I am so impressed at how well my surgery and experience went with having Dr. Dunn as my surgeon! He was thorough, with what to expect before, during and after the procedure. What a blessing Dr. Dunn is. My teenage son had to have appendix surgery in a lot of pain. Dr. Dunn went out of his way to come meet us in pediatrics at Good Sam before and after surgery. Great communication and wonderful demeanor. My son’s recovery was way better than expected. Just finished our 2 week post op checkup in Dr. Dunns office in Los Gatos and everything is all healed and we actually got a few minutes to talk and he was able to connect with my son. Such a nice experience not typical these days. Highly recommend.

Dr. Dunn was amazing throughout the entire process of fixing my hernia. The thing I appreciate the most was the promptness of care, I went from discovering the hernia, undergoing surgery and then being fully recovered in 1 month (most of that being recovery time ~2.5 weeks). I'm so greatful to Dr. Colin Dunn for my 270 degree fundoplication and hernia repair. I've had 13 difficult years of GERD and LPR following my first pregnancy. I had tried western medication (PPIs) as well as naturopathy (HCL supplements) and a low acid and low fat diet but my issues continued to progress over the years until my LPR got so bad I was coughing after everything I ate no matter how light/healthy it was. I'm so happy there was a solution and that it worked! Only a week or two after surgery I was starting to eat things I couldn't before like peanut butter, chicken soup, and milkshakes. When I added peanut butter to my oatmeal and ate it my 9-year-old daughter started crying because she knew her momma was going to be okay. This surgery honestly gave me my life back. Before, I was starving and going insane with fear and worsening LPR, and now I can eat anything I want and get my strength back to raise my kids and have some fun! The interactions with his assistant were great as well and the pre-op and post-op experiences were clear and helpful. I also felt that the nurses at Good Samaritan were great. I would definitely recommend doing your surgery with Dr. Dunn because you are going to get talented people and all the best tech. Now time to go eat some cake for Mother's Day!

Had inguinal hernia surgery 3 weeks ago. I was extremely nervous but Dr Dunn made me feel extremely comfortable. I wish he was my primary care Doctor. He did great work and no more pain. His staff is great as well. His assistant Joannie C responded quickly and answered all my questions. She was professional every time. I had been suffering from LPR, laryngeal pharyngeal reflux, for over a year when I found Dr.Dunn. From the first visit, I knew he was different than the doctors I had previously seen. He made me feel like more than a medical record number and he had a lot of compassion for my situation. My previous doctors gave me no path to getting better. He was very clear on how to proceed, communication was amazing and I knew exactly what to expect moving forward. I’m now 5 months post op and I feel great. Dr. Dunn is truly in the business of healing people and getting them back to feeling their best. I feel like Dr. Dunn has given me my life back and I will be forever grateful.

I have suffered from GERD for years, and was determined to get off of PPIs (omeprazole) which I had been taking for years. Dr. Dunn and his staff navigated me through the process of testing and eventually corrective surgery which removed the need for me to be on any medication for this issue, aside from an occasional Tums. Nobody wants to have surgery and recovery, but they made it as easy as possible for me and the recovery was not difficult. Dr Dunn is amazingly knowledgeable and was with me all the way.

While Dr. Dunn wasn't the doctor who ultimately did my surgeries, he was so instrumental in finding out what the heck was wrong with me. I'd been suffering for years, and had even went to a previous doctor who didn't fix the issues I had. Doctor Dunn listened, and tested and found all my problems. My husband got seen by Dr. Dunn and had a great experience. First off my husband is not a fan of hospitals and this was his first surgery so he didn’t not know what to expect. Dr. Dunn is very easy going and reassured him everything was going to be ok and explained the process of what would be done for his surgery. The Surgery was fast and he was out in no time. Hopefully we don’t have to go through surgery’s again but if we would have to and if it’s a surgery under Dr. Dunns scope of line we would definitely choose him again. Excellent experience - first time under going surgery (hernia repair) and the process was seamless. He was very transparent and understanding from the beginning and thoroughly answered any questions. Dr Dunn is the greatest, I had originally went to a surgeon for a hernia in which my entire stomach was in my chest she referred me to Dr Dunn for special test for my esophagus before she’d do the surgery. Don’t know the medical name for the procedure but he went down my throat to look around and saw I had Barrett esophagus non cancerous from the acid reflux which I was worried about since after my surgery I had really bad acid reflux. Long story short even though Dr Dunn did not to the surgery he reached out to me to see how I was doing told him about the reflux made me an appt to discuss how to proceed. On 9/4/25 in put a rap around my esophagus and I no longer have acid reflux. This is the kind of Dr you can count to do everything in your best interest before and after.

Doctor Dunn and all the support team members at Good Samaritan Hospital were awesome! I absolutely felt I was in good and caring hands the whole time.

I ended up in the ER at Good Samaritan Hospital with severe abdominal pain and no idea what was causing it. After a lot of different tests ( CT, Ultrasound and MRI) I met Dr Colin Dunn who explained to me that it looked like I had MALS. Apparently it's not a common issue to have. He said I was "one in a million..lol!" I am so afraid of surgeries and being put under anesthesia that I was very unsure if I wanted to go through with the surgery. I have never had a doctor sit in my hospital room and explain the surgery to me in detail. I also liked the fact that when I asked him what the risks were he didn't sugarcoat it. I am someone who likes to know everything upfront. He told me what would more than likely happen if I chose not to do the surgery. I didn't feel pressured into the surgery at all, because he basically left the decision up to me. He reassured me and told me I would do great. I had the surgery and everything turned out great. I had six small incisions that healed up nicely. Dr. Dunn is very easy to talk to and very personable. I only wish more Drs. and surgeons were like him. You can tell he truly cares about his patients . I hope I never have to use his services again, but if I do, he will be the Dr. I turn to. I will also be referring him to anyone that I know who has issues he deals with. I highly recommend him. Thank you again Dr Dunn for everything you did. I believe you are "One in a million!"

As someone who had never undergone surgery such as a laparoscopic cholecystectomy before, I truly felt lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Dunn. Going into the whole situation, I was pretty nervous. Not really knowing what to expect, but from the first point of contact, Dr. Dunn was very polite and easy going. He broke down the whole procedure and I appreciate him being very accommodating with me and my urgency to get the surgery over with. Joannie was fantastic in helping me get scheduled and working with my insurance to get everything squared away. Very quick and responsive in my communication with her. Definitely deserves a raise. The surgery was performed at the El Camino Health Hospital in Mountain View. The staff there was amazing. I went in alone but didn’t feel scared or nervous. Everyone was very attentive and efficient. It was an outpatient surgery, so I was in and out the same day. Recovery went way better than I expected. Even after the surgery was performed, Dr. Dunn is still very responsive with his patients, and any inquires that they have. Just finished my follow-up appointment with him at his office in Los Gatos. I didn’t catch the admins name, but I appreciate her work and making the experience quick and easy. Very nice individual. Hi, I am a 50+ years old male with a reasonable health condition but a bit over weight. A while ago, I started having progressively sever pain in my back during a few episodes after I eat normal food (such as spaghetti) and subsequently I found myself in the ER room of the "Good Samaritan" hospital in San Jose/Los Gatos area. Turns out I have a badly infected Gallbladder that needs to be removed asap. While Gallbladder surgery is not the most dangerous type of surgery, it is not a trivial surgery either and for a patient under sever pain and pain killer effects, someone that you can trust is an invaluable asset. Turns out Dr.Dunn has started monitoring my health indicators while I am in the ER after mid night and ordered even more tests (such as MRI) and followed up early in the morning to explain to me what my options are. I also happen to be lucky enough to have access to my primary family doctor associates and they concurred with Dr.Dunn's observations. Dr.Dunn subsequently performed the surgery within less than 24 hours of me checking into the ER. My case turned out to be not a mild one and the recovery is taking about two weeks. Dr. Dunn then followed up on a daily basis when I was in the hospital and once I was out of the hospital, it is fairly easy reach him for guidance. In addition to that, I do like his confidence level as well as thoroughly going through every single question me or my family members have with patience. As much as I never wish what happened to me happen to anyone, if you have Gastric (stomach) related issues, I highly recommend checking Dr.Dunn's out.
